University of Charleston Recognized Among Nation’s Leaders in Student Satisfaction

When students feel seen, heard, and supported, especially in moments of struggle, they are far more likely to persist and thrive.

Recognizing this, UC has strengthened its undergraduate engagement and retention by partnering with EdSights, a higher-education technology company, to create a powerful new tool: MoHarv. Much like a campus-specific "Siri" or "Alexa," MoHarv not only answers questions but actively checks in on students' experiences, helping uncover challenges that might otherwise go unnoticed.

The impact has been both measurable and meaningful: MoHarv has sparked more than 5,300 student interactions, with nearly half of students engaging in conversations, and it has connected students to critical resources more than 600 times and flagged 119 students who needed additional staff support.

Those efforts have not gone unnoticed. University of Charleston has been recognized as one of the nation's highest-performing colleges and universities for student satisfaction, earning a place on the inaugural 2026 Student Voice® Score (SVS®) Honors List, released by EdSights.

"This recognition reinforces what we already know, that UC offers a learning environment where students have the tools not just to succeed, but to thrive," UC President Marty Roth said. "We are proud to be able to meet students where they are; to offer them ways to make their voices heard and ensure that their well-being is a vital component of our infrastructure."

"The institutions recognized on this year's Honors List have distinguished themselves by listening to students, responding to their needs, and creating environments where students can thrive," said Carolina Recchi, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of EdSights. "We're proud to recognize University of Charleston as one of the nation's leaders in student satisfaction."

The Student Voice Score Honors List recognizes the top-performing 20 percent of participating colleges and universities within each higher education sector, celebrating institutions that are setting the national standard for student experience and success.

The Student Voice Score® (SVS®) is the nation's first ongoing benchmark that captures student satisfaction directly from students at scale. It provides colleges and universities with a standardized measure of the student experience and recognizes institutions that consistently receive exceptional feedback from their students.
