East Wendover Avenue Lane Closures Underway

All westbound lanes of the 3600 block of East Wendover Avenue, from Penry Road to Aunt Mary Avenue, are closed due to an eight-inch water main break. Approximately nine businesses are without water service, including Guilford Technical Community College's Greensboro Campus.

City crews will be on-site until repairs are completed, the lanes reopened, and service is restored, which is expected by midnight tonight. Signs and traffic cones are in place, and motorists are urged to use alternate routes to avoid the area. See the map below for the location.

If you notice discoloration or cloudy water coming from your tap after the repairs, run cold water for a few minutes through a faucet without an aerator, such as an outside spigot or bathtub, until clear.
