Commission to issue SoI on JPT’s proposed acquisition of T&G Fresh
The Statement of Issues will be published on the Commission's case register in due course and will outline the potential competition issues with the acquisition following the Commission's initial investigation. The Statement of Issues will invite submissions from JPT, T&G Fresh and any other interested parties.
The Statement of Issues is not a final decision and does not mean that the Commission intends to decline or clear the application.
The Commission is currently scheduled to make a decision on the application by 26 August 2026, although it is in discussions with JPT to extend time. If a new decision date is agreed, this will be published on the Commission's case register.
Background
We will only give clearance to a proposed merger if we are satisfied that the merger is unlikely to have the effect of substantially lessening competition in a market.
