MBA Honors Constanza Krause of Space Coast Credit Union with the 2025 Ken Markison Legacy Achievement Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 29, 2025) - The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) today presented its annual Ken Markison Legacy Achievement Award to Constanza (Cony) Krause, CMB, CMCP, CRU, Manager, Learning & Development at Space Coast Credit Union. The award, announced at MBA's Compliance and Risk Management Conference, recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves in pursuit of the Certified Mortgage Compliance Professional (CMCP) certificate and designation program.

Krause has more than two decades of experience in the financial industry, with 12 years focused specifically on mortgage lending. A 2024 Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) graduate and recipient of the Certified Mortgage Compliance Progressional (CMCP) and Certified Residential Underwriter (CRU) designations, she is widely respected for her deep expertise in compliance, regulatory requirements, process improvement, and strategic training.

"Cony is a distinguished industry professional and admirable leader who lives by the mantra of 'lifting others as you climb,'" said MBA's President and CEO Bob Broeksmit, CMB. "Her commitment to education and professional development has made a lasting impact on both her colleagues and the broader residential finance community. It is an honor to present her with the prestigious Ken Markison Legacy Achievement Award."

Krause plays a key role in shaping MBA's educational programs by serving as a subject matter expert, helping to update and improve course content, including the Evaluating Business Tax Returns course, participating as a panelist for CMB oral exams, and teaching for Mortgage Banking Bound at Barry University. Krause also supports aspiring CMB candidates through study groups and mock orals, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to mentorship and professional growth. Her dedication to regulatory clarity and education continues to influence the industry's standards and elevates the quality of mortgage training nationwide.

The Ken Markison Legacy Achievement Award was established in the name of Ken Markison, following his retirement from MBA in 2017. While at MBA, Markison was in the vanguard of educating members and was the principal architect behind MBA's Compliance Essentials program. He is also nationally recognized as one of the leading experts in government housing regulations and led the efforts for industry input on "Know Before You Owe" or TRID, the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), loan officer compensation matters, and countless other laws and regulations.
