Sen. Rick Scott Visits eSmart Recycling in Tampa, Highlights How Good-Paying Jobs and Strong Businesses Power the American Dream

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Senator Rick Scott released the fourth episode of his 'American Dream at Work' series, where he sits down with Tony Selvaggio, owner and founder of eSmart Recycling in Tampa, Florida. Senator Scott toured the facility and sat down with Tony to discuss how a good-paying job is essential to living the American Dream, and how government too often doesn't understand the complexity of the problems Americans and business owners face. Tony shared how the best thing government can do is get out of the way and let the free-market work to empower businesses and business owners to innovate, solve problems, and help those in their communities live their American Dreams.

As part of his 'American Dream at Work' series, Senator Scott is traveling the state to highlight Florida's entrepreneurs, their businesses, and the incredible work they're doing to grow jobs and contribute to their communities. Senator Scott lived his American Dream - from growing up in public housing, to starting a family, building businesses, being elected Governor of Florida, and U.S. Senator - he continues working tirelessly to ensure every American has the same opportunity to live their American Dream.

Senator Rick Scott said, "Tony Selvaggio's story, and the stories of so many Floridians like him, remind us why the American Dream is worth fighting for. As someone who immigrated here from Venezuela and became a U.S. citizen, Tony shared with me just how special the United States is, and how lucky we are to have the freedoms and opportunities that Washington politicians take for granted. In Washington, too many politicians see big government as the answer to every problem. But Tony and I know better. We know that it's businesses, families, and people on the ground who are best at solving the complex issues in their communities. By getting big government out of the way, reining in federal spending, cutting taxes, and empowering business owners like Tony, we can Make Washington Work Better for all Floridians who are working to live their American Dream and help those around them do the same."
