Congresswoman Simon on Passage of the Continuing Resolution

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Lateefah Simon (D-CA-12) released the below statement following Senate passage of the Republican continuing resolution.

"I voted against the partisan funding bill in the House of Representatives earlier this week, and I am deeply disappointed by Senate passage of the bill tonight.

"This spending agreement sells Americans and our government down the river. It makes cuts that will impact veterans, elders, families, and children from every corner of the nation-while giving undue power to President Trump and Elon Musk to control federal spending and shut down federal agencies.

"Republicans control the House, Senate, and White House. Let us be clear that they are responsible for the devastating impacts of this bill. I will continue to do everything in my power to protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, and ensure communities in CA-12 have the support they need."
