A new hotel is officially coming to downtown Goodyear as AC Hotel by Marriott breaks ground on Oct. 12, marking another milestone in the continued development of the city's downtown.

Located in the heart of GSQ and overlooking the two-acre Civic Square Park, the AC Hotel will bring 135 guest rooms to downtown Goodyear, along with a lounge, bar, business center, outdoor pool and more than 1,200 square feet of meeting space. The hotel is expected to create approximately 30 permanent jobs and is anticipated to open in early 2028.

"It's exciting to see AC Hotel move from plans to construction representing another important investment in Goodyear," said Mayor Joe Pizzillo. "The hotel will bring new visitors to our downtown, support local businesses and create new employment opportunities, while giving residents and visitors another reason to spend time in GSQ."

The hotel adds a new hospitality component to GSQ, complementing the growing mix of dining, retail, office, healthcare, education and entertainment offerings already taking shape around Goodyear Civic Square.

"The AC Hotel is an important addition to GSQ and helps bring another key component of the district's vision to life," said George Getz, co-CEO of Globe Corporation. "With the continued growth of restaurants, retail, office and other uses at GSQ, adding a high-quality hotel creates even more opportunities for people to experience the district."

GSQ continues to demonstrate strong market momentum, highlighted by the recent openings of high-demand retailers such as Black Rock Coffee Bar, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, First Watch, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, and Trader Joe's. The district has also expanded its health and education footprint with Banner Health and Avila University Arizona, further strengthening GSQ's position as a diversified, investment-ready mixed-use hub.

Progress at GSQ is advancing steadily, supported by a new wave of businesses recently announced and under construction, including CAVA, California Fish Grill, Fogo de Chão, Flower Child, J.Crew Factory Outlet, Lovesac, Nordstrom Rack, Postino, Sephora, Spinato's Pizzeria and more.
