Hillside Township North Avenue Pumping Station

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

Hillside Township recently closed on a $1.2 million loan from the NJ Water Bank to upgrade the North Avenue Pump Station and purchase a new street sweeping vehicle.
The North Avenue Pump Station, which conveys sanitary flow from Hillside to the Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties for treatment, requires critical repairs to prevent equipment failure. Upgrading the aging components will help avoid operational disruptions and ensure continued compliance with environmental regulations.

In addition, the new street sweeping vehicle will help reduce the amount of sediment, debris, and pollutants that enter the Township's stormwater system, supporting cleaner local waterways and improved water quality.
