Vauxhall ends the first quarter of 2026 in a strong position, increasing its total car and van market share to 5.1% year-to-date, with 35,446 vehicles registered.
The Corsa remains a key driver of sales for Vauxhall, once again being named the best-selling small car in March and year-to-date, selling a total of 10,552 units since the start of the year.
Vauxhall climbs the UK rankings as the second-best-selling retail electric car brand in March and year-to-date, increasing its volume by 65.6% to 3,269 units.
Strong sales in the electric retail segment were driven by the success of the new Frontera Electric, the UK's third-best-selling electric car so far this year. It is also the best-selling model in the compact electric family SUV segment, where it has increased its share to 17.2%, selling a total of 4,349 units year-to-date. 66.4% of all Frontera models sold this year are the fully electric version.
In the van market, the brand increased its share to 8.9% year-to-date, an increase of +0.9%pts compared to 2025, with volume up 8.8% to 7,606.
Eurig Druce, Vauxhall Managing Director and Stellantis UK Group Managing Director, said: "Vauxhall has had a strong first quarter in 2026 with impressive results across the car and van market, increasing our market share to 5.1% with Corsa remaining a UK favourite. Frontera Electric is charging up the sales charts to become the UK's third-best-selling electric car, elevating Vauxhall to be the second-best-selling retail electric car brand this year. We're going to keep pushing and build on this positive momentum, all the while helping more drivers make the move to electric, with more new models coming, like new Astra and Corsa GSE, to help us do so."

ABOUT VAUXHALL MOTORS
Vauxhall Motors started making cars in the UK in 1903. Today, as the oldest and most familiar of Britain's automotive manufacturers, its philosophy is to build vehicles that are relevant to all and offer design, high levels of equipment and technology, and electrification at an attainable level. Vauxhall is one of few automotive brands to produce electric vehicles in Britain at its manufacturing plant in Ellesmere Port - the UK's first electric-only manufacturing plant where the Combo Electric van is made. Vauxhall's Electric Streets of Britain campaign raises the profile of the need for more on-street electric vehicle charging so that everyone can benefit from the switch to electric. Vauxhall is proud to be the official automotive partner of Team GB. The partnership sees Britain's most loved sports team and one of Britain's most recognisable automotive brands joining forces, with Vauxhall supporting athletes as they prepare for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Vauxhall is part of Stellantis NV, a global leader created for the new era of sustainable mobility as a result of the merger between Groupe PSA and FCA Group in January 2021. Vauxhall is a leader in electrification - as of 2021, it was one of the first manufacturers to offer fully electric versions of all its vans. Since the end of 2024, Vauxhall has offered a fully electric version of every model in its car and van line-up. Info: https://www.vauxhall.co.uk
