AI Tools for Seniors course reaches 1,000 users in first year

One year after its launch, the AI Tools for Seniors course has reached more than 1,000 users, marking a meaningful milestone in advancing digital confidence, safety and engagement among older adults.

Designed to help seniors better understand and safely use artificial intelligence in everyday life, the course offers accessible guidance on communication tools, cognitive engagement, travel planning, scam awareness and digital safety. The mission is simple: make AI less intimidating and more empowering for older adults.

The course was created and developed by Margaret Sass, who recognized the growing need for senior-friendly AI education as technology rapidly evolves. The initiative was supported by Jackie Throngard, manager of BroncoLearns, whose partnership and encouragement helped bring the project to life and expand its reach.

Over the past year, the course has expanded through workshops, educational materials and community outreach designed specifically for adults age 55 and older, emphasizing safety, simplicity and practical real-life applications of AI.
