New shop will offer iconic Original Glazed® and other delicious doughnuts CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 29, 2025) - Twin Cities residents, the wait is over. Krispy Kreme® is here! At 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, Krispy Kreme will turn on the Hot Light™ and open the doors at its new shop in Fridley, right outside of Minneapolis, bringing iconic Original Glazed® doughnuts back to fans in the Twin Cities. The new company-owned shop at 5696 University Ave. will feature Krispy Kreme's iconic Hot Light, signaling fresh, hot Original Glazed doughnuts are being made when switched on. The shop will also serve special limited-time offerings for seasonal moments and special occasions. After grand opening day, the 12,000-square-foot shop will be open seven days a week, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Guests can purchase doughnuts in-shop for takeout, via the drive-thru or by ordering doughnuts at krispykreme.com or through the Krispy Kreme app for pick-up or delivery. The strategically located shop will also produce doughnuts for delivery to select retailers across Minnesota, bringing Krispy Kreme to fans statewide. "We're thrilled to return to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, a location where fans have been asking us to come back for nearly two decades," said Krispy Kreme CEO Josh Charlesworth. Throughout grand opening week, Krispy Kreme will randomly award 10 dozen lucky guests a free Celebration Ticket worth a dozen free Original Glazed doughnuts every month for a year. For its return to the Twin Cities, Krispy Kreme renovated a former drugstore space, achieving LEED certification and creating a fun gathering place for the community. The shop is less than 1 minute from Interstate 694, 5 minutes from Interstate 94, and less than 15 minutes from downtown Minneapolis, making it convenient for guests throughout the area to enjoy doughnuts.
