Winchester City Park Boat Ramp Renovations Near Completion

WINCHESTER, Tenn. --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has been working to improve access to Tims Ford Lake in Winchester, TN., as part of the Bill Dance Signature Lake Program (BDSL).

Renovations of the boat ramp and dock at the Winchester City Park on Tims Ford Lake are nearing completion. Currently, the new sixty-foot-wide ramp is open for use. Placement of courtesy docks and bank armoring began the week of April 6, 2026, and is slated to be completed by May 1, 2026.

Bill Dance Signature Lakes includes nine large reservoirs with a proven track record for quality fishing for a variety of fish. In partnership with the Tennessee Valley Authority, reservoirs will receive new or upgraded best-in-class ramps to improve public access for both recreational and tournament anglers. Each of the 18 lakes in the BDSL program will see above-water upgrades such as courtesy docks, ample parking, additional access points, fishing piers, and signage, to name a few. Several smaller lakes, many of which are located within Tennessee State Parks, will be managed intensively by TWRA for Bill Dance approved family fishing with regular stockings to ensure the best chance for success.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is responsible for protecting, managing, and conserving fish and wildlife species for the benefit of Tennesseans and visitors. The Agency also maintains public safety through law enforcement and safety education on waterways.
