Cooperation with ICDO to strengthen Emergency Situations Sector’s capacities

State Secretary at the Ministry of the Interior Vladan Zagrađanin met today with International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) Secretary-General Arguj Kalantarli to discuss the existing modalities of cooperation between the two institutions in the field of emergency situations.

Zagrađanin said that the continuous implementation of specialised training programmes, as well as the exchange of experiences and good practices, is of great importance for members of fire and rescue units, as these are key to effective response in emergency situations.

He noted that the existing cooperation is focused on strengthening the capacities of members of the Ministry of the Interior's Emergency Situations Sector, adding that there is also scope for further enhancing relations between the two institutions in the area of professional development of firefighters and rescuers.
