Take a book, leave a book, and enjoy read­ing while traveling

PANA­MA CITY BEACH, Fla. (June 24, 2026) - North­west Flori­da Beach­es Inter­na­tion­al Air­port (ECP) is part­ner­ing with the North­west Region­al Library Sys­tem to give trav­el­ers a new way to enjoy their jour­ney with the launch of the ECP Fly­Brary, a free, com­mu­ni­ty-dri­ven library locat­ed inside of the Terminal.

Designed to make trav­el even more enjoy­able and engag­ing, the Fly­Brary invites pas­sen­gers to "Take a Book. Leave a Book. Enjoy the Jour­ney." Trav­el­ers can pick up a book for their flight, leave one behind for oth­ers, or sim­ply relax and read while wait­ing at the gate.

"We are always look­ing for ways to enhance the pas­sen­ger expe­ri­ence at ECP," said Park­er W. McClel­lan, Exec­u­tive Direc­tor of ECP. ​"The Fly­Brary is intend­ed to pro­mote lit­er­a­cy, reduce flight anx­i­ety, and help cre­ate a pos­i­tive and unique trav­el expe­ri­ence for travelers.

The Fly­Brary oper­ates on an easy, hon­or-based system:

  • Guests can choose a book to take along on their travels
  • Share a book for anoth­er pas­sen­ger to discover
  • Or enjoy read­ing in the ter­mi­nal and return the book when finished

"We are thrilled to part­ner with ECP to share the joy of read­ing with trav­el­ers from across the world," said Robin Shad­er, Library Direc­tor, North­west Region­al Library Sys­tem. ​"We hope trav­el­ers of all ages will find their new favorite book and engage with the Fly­Brary to help oth­ers take part in the excite­ment of reading."

In addi­tion to phys­i­cal books, trav­el­ers with a North­west Region­al Library Sys­tem card can access thou­sands of e-books, audio­books, and mag­a­zines through the Lib­by app.
