BLUEFIELD, W.Va. - Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) traveled to Bluefield, W.Va. where she delivered remarks celebrating the opening ceremony of the 42nd Cole Chevy Mountain Festival, as well as the arrival of the Freedom 250 Truck Exhibit. The festival is a key community event for the region and will include the interactive traveling museum this year in celebration of America's 250th anniversary.

"I was thrilled to visit the Freedom 250 Truck and celebrate the 42nd grand opening of the Cole Chevy Mountain Festival, which brings communities together and highlights the spirit of our state. This year is even more special with the inclusion of the Freedom 250 exhibit. It is a tremendous honor for our state to be chosen as a stop for the mobile museum, and I'm proud we have the opportunity to take part in such a momentous celebration of our nation's history," Senator Capito.

"Hosting the Freedom 250 Truck in Bluefield during the Cole Chevy Mountain Festival is a tremendous opportunity for our community and visitors from across the region to experience an important piece of our nation's history. We are so grateful to Senator Capito for taking the time to visit and help highlight this unique exhibit as we commemorate America's 250th anniversary," Jeff Disibbio, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of the Two Virginia's, said.

Just like Freedom 250's upcoming signature events like: Rededicate 250, Great American State Fair, Memorial Day Parade, and Evening Candlelight gathering, International Naval Review, Salute to America, or the Patriot Games, the Freedom Trucks channel that same spirit of American pride into the hands and hearts of America's youth, no matter what corner of the country families are from.

Each custom-built mobile exhibit features museum-quality interactive technology, multimedia storytelling, and hands-on experiences that highlight America's founding and defining chapters, as well as the innovation that continues to shape our nation's future.

The Freedom 250 Mobile Museum Tour will continue traveling nationwide throughout 2026 as part of the Semiquincentennial celebration, with additional stops being added through 2026, so communities across the country can honor America's past and look to our future.
