PLANO, Texas (Oct. 2, 2026) -The 2027 Toyota Corolla Cross blends practical utility, surprising capability, and a stylish design that hits a sweet spot for everyday living. Heading into its sixth year in the Toyota lineup, Corolla Cross gives customers a versatile compact SUV interior, with an elevated seating position and folding rear seats to maximize cargo space. Its choice of gas or hybrid powertrains, and available front- or all-wheel drive (FWD or AWD), make it ready for the daily commute and weekend adventures alike. Style is also in the mix, with unique looks for gas or Hybrid models, seven single- and four two-tone colors, and an interior with thoughtfully designed storage and user-friendly tech.
What's New
For model year 2027, the Corolla Cross hybrid lineup simplifies from three to two grades, dropping the S grade and going to a choice of well-equipped SE or XSE grades. Across the rest of the lineup, the model's features and specifications carryover from the prior model year.
The 2027 Corolla Cross models are expected to arrive at Toyota dealerships across the United States this fall. Gas models have a starting Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $25,535 (L FWD grade) and hybrid models have a starting MSRP of $31,415 (SE grade) excluding Dealer Processing and Handling fee, click here for the latest Toyota Pricing information.
Designed to Make the Most of Everyday
The Toyota Corolla Cross presents a refined yet capable SUV appearance, balancing clean lines with a confident stance. Built on the TNGA-C platform, its exterior design brings together the familiarity of the Corolla family with the elevated ride height and utility of an SUV.
The Corolla Cross offers distinct grille designs that help differentiate gas and Hybrid models, with a modern, color-matched grille for the Hybrid model and a wide, rugged look for the gas-powered models. Depending on grade and powertrain, available features such as LED lighting, available two-tone exterior paint, and different wheel treatments give Corolla Cross an approachable and modern look that makes it an attractive entry in Toyota's SUV lineup.
Inside, the Corolla Cross emphasizes comfort, usability, and smart packaging. The cabin is designed to support daily commuting, weekend errands, and road-trip flexibility with a layout that prioritizes both driver confidence and passenger convenience. Interior features include:
The cabin strikes a balance between simplicity, durability, and functionality for a modern appeal.
Gas and Hybrid Powertrain Choices
Toyota offers the Corolla Cross with two distinct powertrain paths, giving customers flexibility based on their driving preferences.
The gas-powered Corolla Cross is equipped with a responsive 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine designed to deliver balanced performance and everyday efficiency. It produces a punchy 169 horsepower and has a physical first gear for a straightforward, familiar driving experience with the confidence expected from a compact SUV.
The Corolla Cross' AWD gas model has a manufacturer estimated 29/31/30 city/highway/combined MPG combined rating; FWD equipped gas models have a manufacturer estimated 30/32/31 city/highway/combined MPG combined rating.
For customers interested in added efficiency, the Corolla Cross Hybrid pairs Toyota's hybrid technology with standard all-wheel-drive, delivering a well-rounded combination of fuel economy and confident traction. The Corolla Cross Hybrid has an impressive manufacturer estimated 46/39/42 city/highway/combined MPG rating on both Hybrid grades.
Front-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive Availability
The Corolla Cross gas grades are available with FWD or AWD, providing an efficient and accessible configuration for many drivers. For those who choose a gas-powered AWD model, Toyota's clever Dynamic Torque Control system directs up to 50% of power to the rear wheels when it's needed - and disengages completely when it's not. This feature helps Corolla Cross' fuel economy.
For Corolla Cross Hybrid models, the e-AWD system has the capability to deliver added traction for slippery road conditions. It employs a high-output IPM (Interior Permanent Magnet) motor that drives the rear wheels and works seamlessly to preemptively distribute driving force to the rear wheels to help suppress front wheel slip during off-the-line starts. It also engages the rear motor in response to slippage at the front wheels and enhances cornering agility by helping to reduce understeer.
Towing capacity is 1,500 pounds on both front- or all-wheel drive models.
