M-1 (Woodward Avenue) storm sewer work at US-24 BR (Square Lake Road) in Oakland County starts Sept. 18

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Storm sewer repairs on northbound M-1 (Woodward Avenue) at US-24 Business Route (BR) (Square Lake Road) in Bloomfield Hills will require the following lane closures from 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22:

  • Northbound M-1 (Woodward Avenue) will have one lane open at US-24 BR (Square Lake Road).
  • US-24 BR (Square Lake Road) will have the left lane closed in each direction.
  • The southbound M-1 (Woodward Avenue) indirect left-turn lane to northbound M-1, just south of US-24 BR (Square Lake Road), will be closed.

Alternate routes available to drivers include northbound US-24 (Telegraph Road) or northbound I-75 to eastbound or westbound M-59.

During the weekend work, crews will be replacing damaged concrete storm sewers, as well as backfilling and replacing asphalt across three lanes of northbound M-1 (Woodward Avenue) at US-24 BR (Square Lake Road).

After the weekend work is completed, crews will keep one lane closed on northbound M-1 (Woodward Avenue) at US-24 BR (Square Lake Road) for curb and sidewalk work through late September.
