A fifth more MMSs sent by business users

In the first quarter of 2026, total outgoing fixed telephone traffic was 10% lower, while mobile was 1% higher than in the same quarter the year before. More messages were sent and about a fifth more data were transferred.

Key statistics

Compared to the 1st quarter of 2025, we recorded:

  • 10% less fixed outgoing telephone traffic,
  • 1% more mobile outgoing telephone traffic,
  • 7% more SMSs sent,
  • 15% more MMSs sent,
  • 22% more data transfer in the mobile network.

Private users made by a fifth fewer outgoing calls from fixed telephone

About 22 million outgoing calls from the national fixed network were recorded, 7% fewer than in the same quarter of 2025. Almost 46 million minutes of total outgoing traffic from the national fixed network were recorded, a tenth fewer than in last year's 1st quarter. National outgoing fixed traffic decreased by a tenth (10%), and international by over a fifth (22%). Private users made a fifth fewer calls and 23% less traffic, and business users 5% fewer calls and 5% less traffic.

More mobile network users or active SIM cards

There were over 2,800,000 mobile network users in Slovenia (active SIM and eSIM cards). In one year, their number went up by 2%. The number of private mobile network users increased by 1% and of business ones by 4%.

Business users sent a fifth more MMSs

The number of SMS messages sent increased by 7% year-on-year and the number of MMS messages by 15%, by business users by a fifth.

Data transfer in the mobile network went up by just over a fifth (22%).
