Cincy Rec Welcomes Summer by Opening Spraygrounds and Two Pools starting Saturday, May 30th

In response to forecasted high temperatures, Cincinnati Recreation Commission (CRC) will open select aquatic facilities ahead of its planned June 6th start date. Starting Saturday, May 30, 2026, CRC will open seven spraygrounds and two pools for the 2026 season, providing residents with an opportunity to stay cool during the early-season heat.

Pools opening:

• Dunham Pool (4356 Dunham Lane, 45238)

• Pleasant Ridge Pool (5915 Ridge Ave. 45213)

Seven spraygrounds will open to serve neighborhoods citywide.

"CRC is committed to being responsive to the needs of our community. With warmer temperatures arriving sooner than expected, we are taking a proactive approach to ensure residents, especially families and youth, have access to safe, welcoming spaces to cool off and stay active. Opening select sites early allows us to respond to the needs of the community while maintaining alignment with staffing and resources," explained CRC Director Daniel Betts.

CRC's remaining 21 outdoor pools will open as scheduled on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

City Manager, Sheryl Long, agrees, "access to pools and spraygrounds is essential to the health and well-being of our neighborhoods. CRC facilities provide not only relief from the heat, but also places for families to gather, children to play, and communities to connect. We are excited to announce this early opening to serve Cincinnati residents during this stretch of hot weather."

CRC recognizes the critical role our aquatic facilities play in the community by providing safe, supervised water recreation, relief during extreme heat, youth development, physical activity, and accessible, low-cost fun!

Memberships, facility information, hours of operation, and all CRC announcements can be found at www.cincyrec.org or by following our official social media channels @CincyRec

CRC encourages residents to stay hydrated, follow all safety guidelines, and take advantage of these resources throughout the summer.
