The Hotel Hershey, one of the finest Historic Hotels in America, today opens its newest dining experience, 1933 Restaurant & Tavern. The full-service restaurant and tavern combines culinary classics with modern comfort and pays tribute to the unique history of The Hotel Hershey.
Expanding the former Harvest Restaurant, the menu features an approachable steakhouse menu, elevated pub fare, signature cocktails, and curated draught beer and wine selections. The reimagined space celebrates the stunning vistas of Blue Mountain, enhanced natural light and showcases a stained-glass ceiling. The dining space offers lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch (starting April 27).
The 5,500 sq. ft. layout offers two distinct spaces - a contemporary dining room for 110 guests, including a private dining room for 30, and an all-new tavern experience. The tavern, with seating for 100 and a separate entrance, features a horseshoe-shaped bar, elevated booth seating and eight TVs for a lively and inviting atmosphere perfect for watching sports. Guests can also enjoy seasonal outdoor patio seating with an oversized firepit for social gatherings.
"1933 Restaurant & Tavern is more than a place to dine - we wanted to offer an only in Hershey experience for locals and destination visitors alike rooted in culinary classics. We've also created a welcoming tavern atmosphere for guests to relax, watch sports and enjoy unique cocktails and curated draught beers."
The restaurant's name, 1933 Restaurant & Tavern, pays tribute to the grand opening year of The Hotel Hershey, part of Milton S. Hershey's visionary "Great Building" campaign. This initiative brought to life monumental projects throughout the 1930s-the HersheyparkArena, HersheyparkStadium, the Community Building, Hershey Theatreand, notably, The Hotel Hershey. Entry artwork honors this legacy with historical photos from 1933 and a cocktail menu celebrates the end of Prohibition, which occurred the same year.
"The menu features offerings for everyone from 1933 Steak & Ale Pie to a variety of steaks and chops, and even a new Seafood Tower,. We've also listened closely to guest feedback and revived previous menu favorites, including our Bavarian Pretzel Cheese Board, She Crab Soup and Lobster Cobb Salad, while introducing new offerings that highlight both traditional classics and nostalgia."
