Why Is Everybody Paying A Premium For Heico Stock

Heico (HEI) stock trades at 51 times its earnings over the last twelve months, commanding more than double the 22.9 times for the S&P 500. Investors at this price are buying future profit the company has yet to earn, a wager that requires years of continued growth to pay off. So which parts of Heico are buyers paying for?

Heico's Electronic Technologies Group Is Growing Fastest

Heico's smaller segment, the Electronic Technologies Group, set the pace during fiscal Q3 2026. Sales rose 36% from a year earlier, fueled by 18% organic growth and acquisitions adding the rest. Management said the group had a record backlog and extremely strong orders, particularly from industrial technology customers.

The larger Flight Support Group, which sells aftermarket replacement parts and repairs components, generated $3.12 billion of the company's $4.49 billion revenue in fiscal 2025. This unit posted a slower 18% sales increase in fiscal Q3 2026, based on organic growth of 12% plus acquisitions.

Across the entire company, revenue grew 23.1% in fiscal Q3 2026 and 20.7% over the last twelve months. Buyers are paying for growth across both divisions, led by the faster-growing Electronic Technologies Group.

How Fast Would Heico Have To Grow?

To maintain its current market value with no return on top, Heico would have to grow its revenue 17.8% a year for five years. The company was worth $43.3 billion at the close on October 26, 2026. Applying a mature P/E of 24, that valuation requires net income of $1.8 billion a year. Reaching that profit level demands $11.7 billion in revenue, assuming a steady net margin of 15.4%. That margin sits halfway between Heico's average of 14.4% over the last twelve fiscal quarter ends and its current 16.4%, the highest in that span. The targeted revenue is 2.27 times Heico's sales over the last twelve months. We allow a five-year window because today's P/E is 2.13 times the mature multiple, and our rule assigns five years for any ratio from two up to three.

The mature P/E, the margin, and the five years are our assumptions, not company figures. Our P/E of 24 places 60% of the weight on an aerospace and defense industry level of 20, and 40% on Heico's own average. While Heico's own P/E averaged 61.3 over the last twelve fiscal quarter ends, we count it as only 30, keeping the mature P/E far below Heico's own average.

Can Heico Keep Growing That Fast?

Heico has grown faster than that before, but not every year. Its reported revenue rose 43.1% in the twelve months to July 2024 and then slowed to 13.5% in the twelve months to July 2025, falling below the required pace. Our data does not split either figure between organic growth and acquisitions. During fiscal Q3 2026, part of Heico's growth came from acquisitions, and organic growth at the larger Flight Support Group was slower than the required pace.

Management provided no numeric revenue guide for fiscal 2026, noting on the August 26, 2026 call only that it expects higher sales at both groups for the rest of that year.

Heico's required growth is most sensitive to the number of years allowed. With three years instead of five, the company would have to grow revenue 31.4% a year, a pace it topped in the twelve months to July 2024.

To sustain its valuation, Heico has to keep growing close to its recent pace for five more years. If growth slips back to its pace of the twelve months to July 2025, the company would need more years to grow into a mature P/E, and the stock becomes a riskier bet. Organic sales growth at Heico's two groups is the number to watch at its next report, expected in December 2026.
