The 16-year-old driver of the GMC Yukon involved in Monday's 6:30 p.m. crash on Briley Parkway at the Brick Church Pike exit ramp has been arrested for vehicular assault and reckless endangerment this afternoon after he was released from the hospital.
The investigation showed there was evidence of impairment when the 16-year-old left the roadway at a curve heading westbound, jumped over the opposite side exit ramp of Brick Church Pike, hit an embankment and flipped.
The crash injured two of his five teenage passengers critically while the other three had non-life threatening injuries. All six teens, including the driver, were transported to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
A blood sample was collected from the 16-year-old at the hospital.
He was charged in Juvenile Court today with three counts of vehicular assault and two counts of felony reckless endangerment.
