TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announces four judicial appointments.
Danielle Sherriff, of Boynton Beach, to serve as Judge on the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court
Sherriff has served as a County Court Judge on the Palm Beach County Court since 2023. Previously, she served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit. She earned her bachelor's degree from Florida International University and her juris doctor from Florida State University. Sherriff fills a judicial vacancy created by the enactment of Senate Bill 2508.
Michael Barnett, of Greenacres, to serve as Judge on the Palm Beach County Court
Barnett has served as a Trustee on the Palm Beach State College District Board of Trustees since earlier this year. Previously, he served as a County Commissioner for the Palm Beach County Board of Commissioners. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida and his juris doctor from the University of Miami. Barnett fills the judicial vacancy created by the enactment of Senate Bill 2508.
Judge Kennedy Legler, of Sarasota, to serve as Judge on the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court
Judge Legler has served as a County Court Judge for Sarasota County since 2023. Previously, he served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit. He earned both his bachelor's degree and juris doctor from Stetson University. Judge Legler fills a judicial vacancy created by the enactment of Senate Bill 2508.
Megan Leaf, of Sarasota, to serve as Judge on the Sarasota County Court
Leaf has served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit since 2017. Previously, she worked as a Supervising Attorney for the Florida Department of Children and Families in the Twelfth Circuit. She earned her bachelor's degree from Florida State University and her juris doctor from Stetson University. Leaf fills the judicial vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Denkin.
