The Animal Legal Defense Fund is heartbroken watching the impact of the recent fires unfolding on news and social media, and hearingreports from our staff, supporters, friends, and family in the Los Angeles (LA) area. Although we recognize that healing from the fires' devastation will take a long time, we are inspired by the way the community is unifying, and would like to take the opportunity to guide our supporters toward ways to bolster those local efforts.
No matter where you are located, these recent fires remind all of us that disaster preparedness is of critical importance. Everyone should take this as an opportunity to make sure your loved ones - including humans and animals - are ready for situations where you may need to shelter in place or evacuate.
