LAS 32937 Prince William Sound Regional Citizens' Advisory Council - Amendment to Location
PROJECT NAME: LAS 32937
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Approximately 4 miles to the South West of Naked Island in Prince William Sound
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 30 of Township 14 South, Range 11 West, Copper River Meridian
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Prince William Sound RCAC is requesting an amendment of a year-round land use permit for the continued installation and maintenance of a 103" x 42" buoy and tower with instruments for measuring ocean currents and meteorological data. The instruments will extend to 8.5' above the water surface. The new location will be 60.62475 N, 147.2239 W.
PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: September 7, 2024
End: September 6, 2029
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: May 5, 2026
The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
DNR-DMLW complies with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Individuals with disabilities who may need auxiliary aids, services or special modifications to comment should contact Alaska Relay at 711 or 800-770-8973 for TTY services.
The DMLW reserves the right to waive technical defects in this notice.
