PITTSBURGH (July 14, 2026) - Allegheny Health Network (AHN) has been designated a Multidisciplinary Team of Distinction by the North American Skull Base Society (NASBS), recognizing the health system's collaborative, patient-centered approach to treating complex skull base conditions.
NASBS awards the designation to select programs that meet rigorous criteria demonstrating clinical expertise, cross-specialty collaboration and a commitment to advancing skull base care.
AHN's distinguished skull base team offers specialized care for complex conditions affecting the head, brain, and neck. This collaborative team includes expert rhinologists, skull base surgeons, neuroradiologists, neuropsychologists and neurosurgeons.
Together, the team provides comprehensive diagnoses and advanced surgical and non-surgical treatments for patients with tumors and other disorders affecting the skull base - an anatomically complex region at the intersection of the brain, nerves and critical blood vessels.
"We are incredibly proud of the AHN Skull Base Team for this well-deserved recognition from the North American Skull Base Society. It is a testament to their exceptional clinical expertise, collaborative spirit and unwavering commitment to patient-centered care for complex skull base conditions," said David Bartlett, MD, interim chair of the AHN Surgery Institute.
