Connecticut Water hosts open house at the MacKenzie Drinking Water Treatment Facility

CLINTON, Conn., Oct. 28, 2026 - Thank you to all the Connecticut Water customers who came out to learn about the water treatment process directly from our experts during an open house at the William N. MacKenzie Drinking Water Treatment Facility in Clinton on Oct. 28.

"At Connecticut Water, we make it our life's work to keep water flowing in the places we all call home," Connecticut Water President Craig J. Patla said. "An open house provides an opportunity for customers to see first-hand where their water comes from and the fascinating journey it takes to get to their homes."

The William Neal MacKenzie Water Treatment Plant provides all or some of the drinking water to over 24,000 Connecticut Water customers in Guilford, Madison, Clinton, Westbrook and Old Saybrook.

With the capacity to produce up to 6 million gallons of drinking water per day, the facility is the largest source of drinking water for Connecticut Water customers in Shoreline region. As a surface water treatment facility, the nearby Kelseytown and Killingworth reservoirs supply the treatment plant with water.
