SAN FRANCISCO, Thursday, November 14, 2024 - Today, the Department of Elections issued the 12th preliminary election results reports of votes cast in the November 5, 2024, Consolidated General Election.
Today's preliminary results report includes 6,106 vote-by-mail and provisional ballots counted since the previous results report issued yesterday, November 13.
The Department must still process and count approximately 15,800ballots. This estimate includes:
Vote-by-mail ballots: 1,400
Provisional ballots (cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center): 14,400
The estimated number of unprocessed ballots now includes nearly 2,000 ballots reviewed and approved for processing since yesterday's report. The additional ballots include approximately 100 faxed vote-by-mail ballots from overseas voters, 400 vote-by-mail ballots which required manual review, and 1,300 conditional voter registration ballots cast in City Hall.
Department personnel will process and count ballots until 5 p.m. tonight. On Friday, November 15, ballot processing will occur from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ballot processing is open to public observation in-person and via livestream at sfelections.org/observe.
The Department will next release preliminary results reports and an estimate of the number of remaining ballots on Friday, November 15, 4 p.m., which will be posted at www.sfelections.gov/results.
When the Department issues results reports, Director John Arntz will be available to respond to questions from members of the public and the media outside of Room 48 in City Hall.
