If you travel on County Home Road by the railroad tracks, you will need to follow the detour this week. Repairs to the Canadian National (CN) railroad crossing on County Home Road will require fully closing the roadway to traffic May 13-16, weather permitting. The CN railroad is replacing the crossing material to provide a smoother crossing and add longevity to the crossing. This project is considered routine maintenance and was last completed in 2024. The CN railroad is fully funding this project.
There will be a marked detour route while the roadway and crossing are closed. A map of the detour is available on the Linn County website.
Motorists are reminded to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit, and comply with all traffic signs around construction projects. Do not drive around the barricades in place to protect the public and road crews.
For additional information on road closures in the Linn County secondary road system, visit Linn County's road closure and restrictions webpage.
