St. Luke's Health Earns 10 National Heart & Stroke Awards

HOUSTON, TX (July 24, 2026) - St. Luke's Health, a member of CommonSpirit, is being celebrated nationally for its commitment to exceptional cardiovascular care. Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, St. Luke's Health - Brazosport Hospital, St. Luke's Health - The Vintage Hospital and St. Luke's Health -The Woodlands Hospital have collectively achieved 10 American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® awards.

These awards signify St. Luke's commitment to implementing the most current, evidence-based treatments for heart disease and stroke, directly translating to more lives saved, faster patient recoveries and fewer rehospitalizations.

With heart disease and stroke remaining critical health challenges (the No. 1 and No. 4 causes of death in the U.S., per the American Heart Association's 2026 Statistical Update), consistently applying established treatment guidelines is crucial. Studies confirm that patients achieve better outcomes when providers follow these protocols diligently.

The Get With The Guidelines initiative, by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association, equips hospitals nationwide to align patient care with research. St. Luke's qualified for these awards by demonstrating consistent dedication to high-quality care through its participation in these vital programs.

"St. Luke's Health is dedicated to elevating patient care by adhering to the latest treatment guidelines and optimizing processes for heart attack and stroke interventions," said Augusto "Gus" Sepulveda, MD, Houston Market Chief Medical Officer.
