Union Boulevard bridge maintenance begins Oct. 14

The City of Colorado Springs will begin maintenance work on the Union Boulevard bridge over Cottonwood Creek on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Drivers can expect temporary lane closures between Woodland Hills Drive and Deliverance Drive for about eight weeks.

Crews will close one outside lane at a time while they perform routine bridge maintenance and repair and improve nearby fencing. Traffic will remain open in both directions throughout the project.

The Cottonwood Creek Trail may have brief closures or delays during the work. Flaggers will help guide trail users through the area when needed.

Drivers should slow down, watch for crews and equipment, and allow extra travel time. Work schedules depend on weather and may change.
