City Projects
4th Street to 6th Street, 3rd Avenue to 4th Avenue
Beginning March 23, a contractor working for the City will replace sewer lines on 4th Street, 5th Street, and 6th Street between 3rd Avenue and 4th Avenue. Work will require road closures on all three streets. Drivers are advised to follow posted traffic control signs in the area. The project is expected to be completed in early May.
20th Place to 19th Street, 8th Avenue to 4th Avenue
Beginning March 2, a contractor working for the City will install new underground water, storm, and sewer infrastructure, along with asphalt replacement and construction of concrete sidewalks, ramps, and valley gutters within the project area between 20th Place and 19th Street, from 8th Avenue to 4th Avenue. Work will require a road closure. Drivers are advised to follow traffic control. Work is expected to be completed by late June.
George Bell Avenue & Claxton Street
A contractor working for the City will work on installing a new water main and street repairs on George Bell Avenue and Claxton Street (near Avenue B and 8th Street) starting February 23. Work will be done in multiple phases and will require road closure. Drivers are advised to follow traffic control. Work is expected to be completed by late June.
28th Street, 45th Avenue to 33rd Drive
Starting January 20, a contractor working for the City will work on widening 28th Street between 45th Avenue to 33rd Drive. Road closures will be in place. Lane restrictions at the Avenue C and 28th Street intersection will also be in place. Please allow extra travel time and follow all traffic control signs. Work is expected to be completed by Mid March.

City Street Maintenance operations for the week of March 9 - March 15 will take place in the following areas.
Street Asphalt Patching:

Atmar Subdivision.
Villa Palo Verde Subdivision.
Concrete Sidewalk Repair:
Country Estates #6.
4612 16th Lane.
2861 Madison.
Streets Crack Seal Repairs:
San Carlos Subdivision.
Stewart Subdivision.
Orange Grove Subdivision.
Streets Grinding Repair:
Yuma Corona.
Rio Colorado Mobile Estates.
Other utility projects and encroachment permits
Avenue C, 24th Street to 22nd Lane (Private Contractor)
Beginning February 9, a private contractor will construct a property entrance along Avenue C between 24th Street and 22nd Lane. Work will require lane restrictions on the northbound lane of Avenue C. Drivers are advised to follow traffic control. Work is expected to be completed by late March.
Avenue B, 8th Street to 12th Street (Private Contractor)
Beginning January 20, crews will conduct sewer work along Avenue B between 8th Street and 12th Street. Lane restrictions will be in place. Drivers are advised to follow traffic control. Work is expected to be completed by early May.
4th Avenue, 32nd Street (CenturyLink)
Beginning January 6, CenturyLink crews will access manholes to perform utility work at 4th Avenue and 32nd Street. Work will require road closures with lane restrictions. Motorists are advised to watch for work zones and follow all posted traffic control. Work is expected to be completed by late March.
Routine Maintenance, Tree Trimming, and Survey Work (APS)
APS crews will be conducting routine maintenance, tree trimming, and survey work throughout the year in various locations within the City. Motorists are advised to watch for work zones in unexpected areas and follow all posted traffic control.
Avenue 4E, 36th Street to 28th Street (Private Contractor)
Beginning December 2, a private contractor will install a sanitary sewer main and conduct sewer services along Avenue 4E between 36th Street to 28th Street. Work will require road closures with lane restrictions on 32nd Street. Drivers are advised to follow traffic control. Work is anticipated to be completed by late May.
Fiber optic installations (Allo)
Communications line installations are taking place in areas designated for utility easements in numerous and various locations within the City limits and surrounding vicinity. Motorists are advised to watch for work zones in unexpected areas.
