On January 27, the first political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the State of Qatar were held in Yerevan, led by Vahan Kostanyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, and Ahmad Hussein Al-Hammadi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
The parties discussed in details the intensifying bilateral political relations,emphasizing in this context the importance of high-level mutual visits. Common interest in implementing substantive projects in the economic sphere was emphasized, including in the fields of infrastructure, tourism, energy, and agriculture.The expanding cultural and educational cooperation between the two states was also discussed.
During the consultations, Vahan Kostanyan briefed his counterparts on the ongoing processes in the South Caucasus following the Washington agreements, as well as on the latest developments in the context of unblocking regional infrastructures.
The situation in the Middle East and other regions was also touched upon, along with underscoring the importance of expanding effective cooperation on multilateral platforms and ensuring continued mutual support.
