MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The National Cotton Council commends President Trump for reaching frameworks for reciprocal tariff agreements with Guatemala and El Salvador. An important outcome of the framework is the removal of reciprocal tariffs for CAFTA-DR qualified textile and apparel exports from these two countries to the U.S. The Central American countries covered by CAFTA-DR are important markets for U.S. cotton and U.S. cotton manufactured products. We urge the Administration to finalize frameworks that remove reciprocal tariffs for the remaining CAFTA-DR participants.
