City of Alexandria Under Tornado Watch, Prepared for Severe Weather on March 16

The City of Alexandria is under a tornado watch until 7 p.m. on Monday, March 16. Severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes, damaging wind gusts, and hail are possible.

The City has deployed public works teams to prepare for downed traffic signals and debris removal.

For the most up to date information on how the City is responding, including facility closures and service impacts, go to alexandriava.gov/Alert.

To report debris, down traffic signals, flooding, or other non-emergency concerns, use the online Alex 311 portal or call 703.746.4311. After 7 p.m. please call 703.746.4444.

For power outages, please notify Dominion Energy online or call at 1-866-DOM-HELP (1-866-366-4357).

For immediate police, fire, or emergency medical assistance, call 911.
