Discussion on the Preparation of New Project Proposals foryear 2027 held at Ministry of Defence

A discussion on the guidelines to be followed when preparing new project proposals for the year 2027 was held today (06 February) at the Ministry of Defence premises with the participation of Defence Ministry officials. The programme was held in the presence of the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd).

The programme was organised by the Department of National Planning with the objective of educating officials on the procedures and guidelines related to the preparation and submission of new project proposals in line with the provisions of the State Finance Management Act No. 44 of 2024. The programme was conducted by a panel of officials lead by the Director General of the Department of National Planning Mr. KTI premarathne.

During the session, respective officials of affiliated institutes under Ministry of Derence were briefed on key aspects, including the process of preparing the annual budget, the formulation of the Public Investment Programme, relevant timelines, the allocation of funds through budget estimates, and important factors to be considered when formulating project proposals.
