In China, the system of people's congresses is an important institutional vehicle for realizing whole-process people's democracy.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012, Xi Jinping has attended the annual sessions of the national legislature and the top political advisory body, participated in dozens of deliberations and discussion sessions, and interacted with hundreds of lawmakers and political advisors, spearheading efforts to pursue whole-process people's democracy.
