CPChem takes top honors from ACC, named Responsible Care® Company of the Year

Chevron Phillips Chemical has been recognized by the American Chemistry Council with two of the Responsible Care® program's highest honors: Responsible Care® Company of the Year and Responsible Care® Initiative of the Year.

The awards recognize CPChem's sustained leadership in environmental, health, safety and security performance, as well as its commitment to continual improvement and responsible operations across its global footprint. The honors were announced as part of ACC's Responsible Care® and Sustainability Awards program, which highlights companies demonstrating exceptional performance and long-term commitment under Responsible Care.

"Responsible Care is fundamental to how we operate at CPChem," said Steve Prusak, President and CEO. "These recognitions reflect the disciplined, risk-based approach our employees and contractors take every day to protect one another, our communities and the environment, while continuously improving how we operate."

The Responsible Care® Company of the Year Award recognizes companies demonstrating outstanding leadership and performance, supported by strong management systems, a culture of accountability and sustained improvement across operations. CPChem was selected based on its enterprise-wide integration of Responsible Care® principles into its Operational Excellence management system, executive-level engagement in industry leadership, and consistent focus on preventing high consequence events to protect people, communities and the environment.

In addition, CPChem received the Responsible Care® Initiative of the Year Award for its Risk Based Corporate Auditing program, a redesigned approach to corporate Operational Excellence reviews and Process Safety Management audits that prioritizes the safeguards and activities most critical to preventing serious injuries, loss of primary containment and environmental releases.
