FASEB Statement In Support of International Scholars

FASEB Statement In Support of International Scholars

Tuesday, May 6, 2025
FASEB issued a statement expressing concern about recent actions affecting international scholars studying in the U.S., including having visas terminated without due process or proper notification. Although visas were re-instated for many of the affected individuals, press reports indicate a new policy is being drafted which could impact the ability of foreign students to continue their studies in the U.S. FASEB's statement acknowledges that graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from around the world have played a critical role in the U.S. research enterprise and urges the administration to seek input from stakeholders prior to developing and implementing any new policies related to the provision of visas for international scholars.
