FREDERICK, MD - The National Weather Service expects freezing rain this afternoon into tonight. Roads may be slick, and visibility could be limited during the evening commute.
"Winter road conditions can be highly unpredictable. It is important for everyone to use caution while driving and stay updated on weather conditions," said Anthony Rosano, Director of the Frederick County Division of Emergency Management.
Frederick County's Division of Public Works Highway Operations will monitor weather conditions overnight as needed, tracking temperature, precipitation, and other factors to support timely operational decisions.
Drivers are asked to use extra caution while driving. Be aware of your surroundings, allow a safe distance between vehicles, and avoid driving close to snowplows. These are some additional steps you can take for everyone's safety:
