Construction set to begin on the Mission San Jose (680/238) Separation on Northbound and Southbound I-680 in Fremont
Work is set to begin Monday, April 7, 2025

Alameda County - Caltrans will begin work on the I-680 Mission San Jose (680/238) Separation Bridge Deck Rehabilitation Project on northbound and southbound I-680 at Mission San Jose (680/238) Separation in Fremont, starting Monday, April 7, 2025, with an estimated completion in Winter 2025. The project will improve safety and extend the life of the bridge by resurfacing the bridge deck, repair bridge approach slabs and replace the concrete barrier.

During construction work times, drivers should expect lane closures, shifting traffic patterns, and possible delays. Work is weather and schedule permitting.

Current Work Schedule:
Intermittent nightly closures
Monday to Friday: 8:00 PM - 5:00 AM

During these hours, motorist should expect ramp and lanes to be closed to traffic. Motorists should plan and use alternate routes.

Be Work Zone Alert and expect travel delays.
