Are you ready to step into a leadership role and help support the development and interests of new and young professionals across the Defence Team? The Defence Team Young Professionals Network (DTYPN) is seeking applicants for one military and one civilian co-chair.

The DTYPN connects new and early-career Defence Team members through networking opportunities, events, and cross-network initiatives.

Responsibilities of the DTYPN co-chair include:

  • serving as the face of the Network and promoting its activities;
  • supporting and contributing to the planning of events, including leading at least one event per year;
  • leading and facilitating Steering Committee meetings, while providing guidance and direction to its members; and
  • overseeing recruitment for Steering Committee positions, as needed.

Applicant requirements:

  • have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the federal public service or military
  • lives in Canada

How to apply:

Email by 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, July 17, outlining:

  • your experience;
  • why you're a strong candidate for the role; and
  • optionally, an idea for a DTYPN event (virtual or in-person).

What's it like to lead DTYPN:

"As co-chair, my favourite part of the role was setting the vision for DTYPN events and enabling teams of young professionals to lead their delivery. DTYPN events are unique because they provide young professionals access to high-level exposure that their day-to-day roles might not otherwise offer. As a future co-chair, your vision will set the direction for DTYPN events and create opportunities for others to step forward and lead."

Captain Patrick Dibb
current National Military co-chair, DTYPN

"Serving as co-chair of the Defence Team Young Professionals Network has been incredibly rewarding for me. I've had the chance to collaborate with and learn from emerging leaders across the Defence Team and the broader public service."

Emily Snyder
current National Civilian co-chair, DTYPN
