SGS Expands Digital Trust Services with New AI Accreditation

SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company, has been accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), the world's largest accreditation body, to certify organizations for their responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This mark of approval allows SGS to offer this important new AI standard to clients worldwide.

This supports SGS's growing focus on Digital Trust - a strategic priority under its Strategy 27. The Group aims to generate CHF 200 million in additional revenue by 2027 compared to 2023 from services that help clients build confidence in digital technologies, including AI, cybersecurity, and data privacy.

The new accreditation is based on ISO/IEC 42001, the first international standard for AI management. It provides a structured way for organizations that develop or use AI to demonstrate that they are doing so responsibly, with proper governance, oversight, and risk management in place.

Géraldine Picaud, CEO of SGS, commented:

"AI is transforming every industry - but trust must grow with it. This new accreditation strengthens our leadership in Digital Trust and reflects our ambition to support clients in navigating emerging technologies with confidence. By aligning AI governance with internationally recognized standards, we help organizations to innovate responsibly, while building lasting trust among users, partners, and society at large."
