Since 2002, Battlefield has been a mainstay in the storied multiplayer FPS genre, capturing the hearts and minds of players across the globe with its groundbreaking scale, explosive battles, and unparalleled all-out warfare.

Now, for the first time in Battlefield history, a merging of talent spread across four world-class and renowned development studios have united with one vision: to create the best Battlefield ever.

This coalition of four major studios-DICE, Criterion, Motive, and Ripple Effect -is known as Battlefield Studios. These developers, artists, and storytellers have poured their creativity into crafting the most ambitious and exciting experience the series has ever delivered, each leaning into their areas of expertise to bring the best of all worlds to Battlefield 6(available now!).

The studios bringing Battlefield to life

Battlefield Studios is comprised of DICE, creators of the Battlefield franchise; Ripple Effect, a studio led by franchise veterans; Motive, the developers of the critically acclaimed Star Wars Squadrons and Dead Space Remake and masters of single-player; and Criterion, known for remarkable racing franchises and playing a key role in several Battlefield entries.

To Rebecka Coutaz, Vice-President and General Manager of DICE and Criterion, this unified approach has enriched all aspects of the game.

The impact of unifying under Battlefield Studios has already been clear across all levels of development. With each studio leaning into its strengths and building upon decades of multiplayer expertise, single-player storytelling, and technical innovation, the new Battlefield stands ready for its most exciting era yet-built by many, for all.

DICE brings more than 20 years of Battlefield expertise, leading the design and refinement of core multiplayer gameplay systems that define the franchise's signature large-scale warfare.

Motive infuses the project with deep narrative design and single-player campaign development, leveraging strengths gained from acclaimed titles like Dead Space Remake and Star Wars Squadrons.

Criterion, renowned for its expertise in fast-paced, innovative gameplay, with a focus on speed, intensity, and smooth, satisfying gameplay systems.

And Ripple Effect, who are Battlefield veterans, are also experts in world-class multiplayer experiences and live-service innovations.

As a result, Battlefield 6 offers deeper campaign storytelling, richer multiplayer modes, more exciting vehicle combat, and a reinvigorated live-service approach shaped by veteran expertise and player feedback.

For Byron Beede, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Battlefield, it's been a dream to see this collaboration come to life.
