Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: John Straume

PROJECT NAME: ADL 234921

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Soldotna, AK

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 36, Township 5 North, Range 11 West, Seward Meridian

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: The east 25 feet of the 50-foot-wide section line easement along the west boundary of Section 36, Township 5 North, Range 11 West, Seward Meridian.

REQUESTED DEVELOPMENT: The applicant has requested to construct gravel road access to their private property within the State-managed section line easement (SLE). The access road will originate at Tanglewood Avenue right-of-way (ROW), connecting to the 50-foot SLE and proceed north to private parcels. The proposed development within state lands will be approximately 670 feet long, 25 feet wide, totaling approximately 0.38 acres. The width of the 25-foot development will consist of a 12-foot-wide road aligned against the section line with a 13-foot-wide ditch/cleared section extending from the outside perimeter of the road. The rest of the development will be within non-state land. The development, if approved, may differ from that described herein.

COMMENTS: Comments should address the impact of the proposed development on current or future access uses of this existing easement. Comments must be in writing for consideration.

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: September 29, 2026

The public is invited to comment on this activity.
