For Boise State University's Sue Antonich, art and science have always shared a rhythm, precision, patience, and a deep respect for process. This month, Antonich is being recognized as the October featured artist at Seeley Station's Upstairs Gallery in Seeley Lake, Montana, where her watercolor paintings are on display.
Antonich, who serves as Business Operations Manager for the School of Medical Imaging and Radiologic Sciences, has quietly cultivated her creative side for years. Her collection, described in The Seeley Swan Pathfinder as "a vibrant study in color, form, and natural balance," reveals the same attention to detail that colleagues say defines her work at Boise State.
"Sue exemplifies forward-thinking leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment in her role as our school's Business Operations Manager," said Leslie Kendrick, associate professor and divisional dean of the school. "Her attention to detail and genuine care are why she is often described as the glue that holds our school together. Beyond her professional excellence, Sue's exceptional artistic talent further enriches our community and deepens our appreciation for all that she brings to our school."
In the Pathfinder article, Antonich shared what drives her to keep creating: "Art gives me peace. It's where I find balance and renewal."
That sense of balance seems to thread through everything she does, from managing budgets and operations for faculty and students to shaping clay and color into reflections of calm.
Antonich's exhibition will run through the end of October at Seeley Station's Upstairs Gallery, hosted by Alpine Artisans, a regional collective that spotlights Montana creators in monthly rotating shows.
