Santa Monica Police Department Assists LAPD with Felony Investigation

Santa Monica, CA - On Monday, September 8, 2025, at approximately 3:19 p.m., using department resources, Santa Monica Police Department personnel identified a vehicle in the city that was wanted by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver initially failed to yield. The vehicle ultimately stopped, and during the encounter, officers discovered the driver was suffering from an injury. The injury was not the result of actions taken by SMPD personnel and are believed to have occurred prior to the traffic stop. The Santa Monica Fire Department responded to the scene to render aid to the driver, who was ultimately transported to a local area hospital.
