Washington, DC- Today, a federal judge paused Donald Trump's scheme to illegally halt all federal grants and loans across the government, impacting trillions of dollars and millions of people in every community across the country. U.S. District Court Judge Loren AliKhan ordered a temporary one-week pause to the freeze in order to allow a hearing for further arguments next Monday morning.
In response, Sierra Club Executive Director Ben Jealous released the following statement:
"Donald Trump's dangerous plan to throw the country into chaos and abandon millions of Americans by leaving them without heat, without clean water, without jobs, and without a roof over their heads is not only breaking his core promise to families, it is illegal - and we will stop him. Trump should start getting used to losing if he continues with schemes that sell out American families."
