Anduril Demonstrates Battle Manager at Valiant Shield 2026

Effective air and missile defense depends on a layered approach, where every asset is networked and working together to enable the fastest possible response to a threat. Earlier this year, Anduril announced a contract awarded by the U.S. Army to develop a Battle Manager prototype for the Guam Defense System, designed to address this challenge in the Western Pacific. That battle management technology was on full display at Valiant Shield 2026 (VS26), where the Anduril team demonstrated a prototyped capability in a test environment less than six months after award.

As a multinational, biennial field training exercise bringing together joint forces in a multi-domain environment, Valiant Shield provided a valuable opportunity to validate the prototype system in an operationally relevant setting. During the exercise, Anduril integrated U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, and Missile Defense Agency air defense assets in the region into its battle manager, powered by Anduril's Lattice software, and fused data from each system into a single joint track picture. Using real-time, autonomous optimization, the battle manager assessed the capacity of each missile defense system, prioritizing which asset to use and when, based on available inventory across air, land, and sea - all through one command-and-control function.

This autonomy-first approach dynamically optimizes threat engagement while preserving critical munitions capacity across the joint force. The exercise also marked the first time a system with this capability - a common operating picture with full weapons status, interceptor inventories, and shot recommendations - was delivered to the U.S. Department of War.

Constant customer feedback during the exercise proved integral to further development of Anduril's battle management technology. Anduril personnel on the ground trained operators on the platform over the course of 11 days, exercising the system against a realistic, simulated threat environment using the operational C2, sensor, and shooter systems currently protecting the region. Working alongside these operators enabled Anduril engineers, with support from Verity Integrated Systems, to make real-time enhancements to the battle manager on a daily basis.

In an environment that has traditionally relied on manually bridging multiple systems to gather information and respond to threats, Anduril delivered a single, integrated solution at speed. After hitting a critical benchmark for tested performance at Valiant Shield, this new prototype capability will be matured based on feedback from the exercise and continuous testing over the next several months. Our goal is to deliver a battle management solution that arms our warfighters with the insights required to strengthen missile defense in the Western Pacific.

The unprecedented breadth and diversity of air and missile defense challenges facing the United States today demand a flexible, integrated, and rapidly deployable set of defenses in response.
