Iowa City Senior Center to open Natural Perspectives: Light, Landscape & Season exhibition
The Iowa City Senior Center will host an opening reception for "Natural Perspectives: Light, Landscape & Season" from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2026, in the Historic Post Office Gallery's Main Gallery, 28 S. Linn St.
The exhibition features photography and painting by Iowa artists Tyler Baird, Chip Ross, and Theresa Wink. Together, their works explore the natural environment through shifting light, expansive skies, seasonal landscapes, and details that can be overlooked in everyday life.
Baird's photography considers the relationship between the natural and constructed worlds, encouraging viewers to notice familiar surroundings from a different perspective. Ross captures the colors, patterns, and changing character of the sky, while Wink's oil paintings interpret the beauty and emotional qualities of landscapes across the seasons.
"Natural Perspectives" invites viewers to pause, look closer, and consider the ways we see and connect with the environment around us.
The opening reception is free and open to the public. The exhibition will remain on view at the Iowa City Senior Center through August 2026.
